New MX track now open!!!

Postby scorcher148 on Mon Sep 22, 2008 2:28 pm

I'm no track expert or anything but I had a hell of a good time ripping it up on this new track! Nice banked turns, jumps, table tops, whoop-d-whoos, long turn, tight turns. It was still fresh when I was hiting it but I'm sure it will only get better as it breaks in. Great job on this one Stan!!!

Thanks Kevin but I can't take any of the credit on this one.Their was quite a few involved with it but I really had nothing to do with the construction of the track.I am glad that you enjoyed it and tell your friends.

Well I will clear it up so there will be no confusion....Jeremy,Ricky,Mr. Richard and Mr. Steve Babson...these men provided the equipment and desire to make this happen along with the labor. Let us not forget Jason High...Big Woods best employee and favorite member of the family for his skill running the equpment and staying the "course" until completion. More changes will be made as needed..We hope you folks can come out and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Buddy of mine rode the track Saturday, he said it was sandy and not real technical which is okay with me. This guy is into real technical SX type tracks that I would never go out on. So if you are old, have nagging injuries from past crashed and have to go to work on Monday AM its probably a good track to ride. :D

Just saying "check it out for yourself" didn't seem right so I thought I would improvise. I think you'll be okay.

Hey Charles, please tell these guys that we want to build them a track that they enjoy riding.Just tell them to ride it and come by the gate and tell us what we can do to make it better. We aren't MX riders so we don't have any experience in this so we need the feedback. Thanks, Stan

You'll get more folks coming back to a track they are comfortable with, espcially with their kids. You are using the right approach, get feedback from the riders. They'll tell you what they like, and don't like. If you start getting a bigger rider turn out, you might want to consider a pee wee track for the small guys. Pee Wee bikes and big bikes on the track at the same time is never good. A 450 screeming over a table top onto a kid on a 50 isn't what you want.

I liked the track. The large banked turns were a plus. The mud puddle on one of the turns was keeping me form being able to jump one of the tabletops though. Plus, you might want to put a track direction sign also. When I was there, there were a couple of people riding on it backwards. If someone dosen't know, then it might couse a wreck.
