Hello.

My name is CJ Rena Johnson. Some of you may already know me. I am sure a lot of you do not.

I am a journalist in the off-road community and am getting ready to do a series on women riders and would love some input from the members here. So to all the ladies ... please check out the questions below and to all the guys ... let me know of any interesting ladies that might be a good candidate for these questions or for a separate interview about their role in the off-road community. Thanks. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

These are some of the questions that I am asking women riders across the nation. I look forward to hearing what you have to say. You can either answer them here or by sending me a private message or by sending me an email to ATruthOfYourOwn@aol.com. I prefer the email message as it is easier to keep up with everyone in the same place.

All I need to go along with your answers is your name and location. You are also welcome to email me pics if you have them to go along with your answers. Thank you in advance. I hope you have an awesome day.

1.) What initially prompted you to get involved in the off-road world?
2.) What is your favorite vehicle and/or type of vehicle to ride?
3.) Who do you most often ride with? (Other women, Men, Family, Friends)
4.) How often do you ride?
b. As opposed to other riders you know
5.) What is your biggest concern when you are getting ready to hit the trail?
6.) What do you think of the new lines of Pink ATVs and gear such as Polaris's new Passion Pink RZR side-x-side?
7.) What aftermarket products are you most interested in?
8.) Are there other aftermarket products you wish someone would come out with?
b. Ideas for products that would be of special use to women riders?
9.) What is your favorite kind of riding? (Racing, Mud, Tracks, Jumps, 4x4 ute trails, hill climbs, etc.)
10.) What do you know now that you wish you had known when you first started riding? If you are new, is there something you would really like to know from more seasoned riders?
11.) How do you pick trails that are best suited for you and your type of riding?
12.) How do you get unstuck when you are out on the trail and physical strength is required which you just might not have?
13.) What is most important to you as a rider? As a woman rider?
14.) How do you feel about kids riding?
15.) If you have kids, do you encourage them to ride with you?
16.) What would you say to other women to try and get them involved in off-road riding?
17.) Anything you would like to add that might be of interest to other or new women riders?

Thanks again. I hope you have an awesome day! :-)

1.) What initially prompted you to get involved in the off-road world?
my husband bought a 4 wheeler first and after riding with him i had to have my own :)
2.) What is your favorite vehicle and/or type of vehicle to ride?
we ride only honda 4 wheelers and jeeps
3.) Who do you most often ride with? (Other women, Men, Family, Friends)
i always ride with a group, you never know when you are going to get stuck and need people to help
4.) How often do you ride?
we ride almost every weekend in the summer, bigwoods gets a little too flooded for us in the winter
b. As opposed to other riders you know
5.) What is your biggest concern when you are getting ready to hit the trail?
do we have enough gas in the tank, cooler packed
6.) What do you think of the new lines of Pink ATVs and gear such as Polaris's new Passion Pink RZR side-x-side?
whatever floats your boat
7.) What aftermarket products are you most interested in?
mostly the front and rear brushgaurds, several in our group have ended up with busted lights due to rear ending
8.) Are there other aftermarket products you wish someone would come out with?
i'm not in it to have a fancy souped up 4 wheeler, i want to have something i don't mind taking out and risk getting torn up, these people put all this money into their 4 wheeler and then don't want to put it in the mud - what was the point
b. Ideas for products that would be of special use to women riders?
helmets w/ ponytail hole
9.) What is your favorite kind of riding? (Racing, Mud, Tracks, Jumps, 4x4 ute trails, hill climbs, etc.)
mud and trails together
10.) What do you know now that you wish you had known when you first started riding? If you are new, is there something you would really like to know from more seasoned riders?
nothing, learning is part of the fun - also i grew up in the country around 4 wheelers and 4x4 trucks so i guess it's always been a part of my life
11.) How do you pick trails that are best suited for you and your type of riding?
is there a chance of getting stuck, how long is it and it better not be a dead end
12.) How do you get unstuck when you are out on the trail and physical strength is required which you just might not have?
that's why you always ride in a group and if strength won't do it you better hope somebody remembered the choker
13.) What is most important to you as a rider? As a woman rider?
that everybody makes it back in one piece and the men realize me and my machine can go anywhere they can
14.) How do you feel about kids riding?
kids should ride with supervision and be taught how to ride safely
15.) If you have kids, do you encourage them to ride with you?
i don't have kids but i love taking friend's kids out, seeing how excited they get makes it that much more fun
16.) What would you say to other women to try and get them involved in off-road riding?
hmm... that's a tough one, i know my hubby thinks it's pretty hot that i go through the places he does and get myself unstuck when necessary. most women there's nothing you can say, you have to get them out there through bribery and then they get hooked
17.) Anything you would like to add that might be of interest to other or new women riders?
you have to come out and give it a try, we'll have you hooked in no time.
